Tom's News:

A Note From Tom

To My Norwegian Friends

Dear Friends,

Although Tom wrote this letter in response to the horrific events in Norway, he wants to share his message and lyrics with all of you who have supported his music and continue to “fight the fight”.

To my many friends in Norway from Tom Pacheco

I received the terrible news of the catastrophe in Oslo and its neighboring island and was as shocked and ripped apart as you were. Norway has always had a very special place in my heart from the dozens and dozens of times I have toured there over the last 21 years. I have traveled all over your beautiful country, north, south, east and west and in my soul it has been like a second home. I have made so many friends that it would be impossible to count them all. I walk alone here in the woods of Woodstock thinking of you and grieving with you. Here is a lyric I dedicate to Norway in your time of sorrow. I wrote it in a time of deep sadness in my life two years ago. It is called "Don't Be Scared, Do Not Yield".

DON'T BE SCARED DO NOT YIELD

When you see the wolves around you
And the danger is extreme
When tomorrow is a tombstone
In the landscape of your dreams

When your troubles they torment you
Like a storm that has no end
When you cannot find a lifeboat
Find a safe place, find a friend

CHORUS:

Don't be scared, do not yield
Though dark shadows fill your fields
Let your spirit be your shield
Don't be scared, do not yield

When your heart is bruised and busted
And you can't see your way clear
When that North Star that you trusted
In the night sky disappears

When your fears freeze every footstep
Like you're trapped in solid glass
Just remember all those wise men
Who once said "this too shall pass"

CHORUS:

Don't be scared, do not yield
Though dark shadows fill your fields
Let your spirit be your shield
Don't be scared, do not yield
